Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Real Estate Teams “Give a Day Away” Through Volunteer Service in Oregon and Washington
More than 200 real estate brokers and employees from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwest Real Estate and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Real Estate Professionals partnered with local schools and community service providers in Oregon and Washington to give back to their communities on Saturday, October, 1. From the Seattle metro area through Roseburg in southern Oregon, volunteers worked with 14 different service organizations during their annual “Give a Day Away” community service event.
Workers’ collective efforts resulted in projects such as fence building, home repair, landscaping, painting and other general maintenance projects at family shelters, transitional housing, schools and a community garden. In addition, multiple teams collected food and contributed their time at local food banks, resulting in the collection of more than $3,100 in cash and over 2,800 pounds of food.
“Together we made a significant difference in the lives of so many on Saturday,” said Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwest Real Estate president and CEO, Jason Waugh. “I deeply appreciate the efforts of those employees and real estate professionals who donated their time to the local community.”
In addition to the volunteer work, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Northwest Real Estate also donated $2,500 to the Home Builders Foundation, a nonprofit organization that builds and renovates shelters and transitional housing for those experiencing homelessness in Oregon.
