Portland Metro Weekend Events: June 5-7, 2015

Dragon Boats tied up to dock on the Willamette at RiverPlace in Portland, Oregon.  These boats can be seen racing on the Willamette durning festivities celebrated along the waterfront.

ROSE FESTIVAL DRAGON BOAT RACES

SAT-SUN JUNE 6-7 Watch 80 teams compete in a series of races on the Willamette River at Portland Rose Festival Dragon Boat Race at Tom McCall Waterfront Park south of Hawthorne Bridge.

ROSE FESTIVAL GRAND FLORAL PARADE

SAT JUNE 6 Portland Rose Festival Grand Floral Parade has floral floats, marching bands, and optional indoor seating where it begins in Veterans Memorial Coliseum. To join, register for the pre-parade Grand Floral Walk.

CITYFAIR

FRI-SUN JUNE 5-7 CityFair features carnival rides, exhibits, a food fair, beer, and Rozone music concerts (for an extra fee) at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. No pets.

MILK CARTON BOAT RACE

SUN JUNE 7 Watch human-powered watercraft made from milk jugs & cartons compete at the Portland Rose Festival Milk Carton Boat Race in Westmoreland Park. Free.

SUMMER DIESEL TRAIN RUN

SAT-SUN JUNE 6-7 All trains leave from the Chelatchie Prairie Train Station on N.E. Railroad Ave. in Yacolt, just south of Yacolt Rd. The excursion trains run to the Heisson area, through the tunnel, across the East Fork of the Lewis River with a stop at Moulton Station to visit the beautiful Yacolt Falls.
