PORTLAND RENOVATION AND LANDSCAPE SHOW
FRI-SUN – Offering exhibits, seminars, demonstrations, and other activities related to design and renovation. Exhibitors will showcase everything for the home, including the latest in cabinetry and countertops, flooring, sunrooms and additions, basement finishing, waterproofing, smart home automation, and energy efficient windows, as well as exterior products.
PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW
Through SUN – Check out the newest models, take test drives, explore the tech center or Blazer kid’s camp, enter to win a 2017 Volkswagen Alltrack, and so much more!
THE GREAT TRAIN SHOW
SAT-SUN – The only coast-to-coast traveling train show, with events in dozens of major cities across the country. Each show features hundreds of tables of trains for sale, huge operating displays, activities for kids and more.
INTERNATIONAL CAT SHOW
FRI-SUN – Watch over 50 breeds of cats compete! Bring canned food to support the Oregon Food Bank to get a discounted entry.
PORTLAND’S RAIN OF GLASS SALE
SAT-SUN – Shop for beautiful glass items, antiques, and collectables at the Washington County Fairgrounds.
Through SUN – Hear speakers and enjoy fine dining at the Oregon Truffle Festival, in Portland Jan. 20-22; Eugene Jan. 26-29. Some events will sell out.
FERTILE GROUND ARTS FESTIVAL
Through SUN – This city-wide festival is focused on new work in the Arts. It features world-premiere projects, staged readings, developing works and a myriad of other arts events from the Portland creative community.
PORTLAND CENTER STAGE, ASTORIA: PART 1
Through February 12 – A World Premiere! This monumental piece of American history will be told in two parts over the course of two seasons. Part One is about the journey to Astoria and Part Two is about the establishment of Astoria, the first permanent United States settlement on the West Coast.
EMILY DICKINSON PLAY
Through SUN – Set in her Amherst home, The Belle of Amherst tells the story of reclusive poet Emily Dickinson through her words, poetry, diaries, and letters in Milwaukie. Discount tickets $10.
FILM & MUSIC FESTIVAL
Through February 5 – Reel Music Festival screens new films and timeless classics with a music theme at Portland Art Museum.
FRIDAY DANCE PARTY
Through February 24 – Giant music videos, colorful lights, and pounding music await you at the ’80s Video Dance Attack in Lola’s Room or McMenamins Crystal Ballroom for age 21+. Discount tickets $6 for two people.
Through February 8 – Based on a novel by Agatha Christie, Murder on the Nile is a whodunit set on a honeymoon cruise down the Nile River at Lakewood Center for the Arts in Lake Oswego. Discount tickets $16.
URBAN SCAVENGER HUNT
ALL MONTH – Smartphone clues lead you on a fun & engaging walking tour of the city. Clues start you in the heart of downtown at Pioneer Courthouse Square and will take you on a scavenger hunt through the Arts District, on a streetcar ride and among the famous food carts.
ALL MONTH – Various Portland Locations: Triviology pub quizzes are free to play, last a couple of hours, and are composed of seven short rounds, giving teams instant gratification for their efforts. Team size can range from one to five players, with prizes for everyone on the winning team.
HAUNTED PUB TOUR
All Month – This spine-tingling ghost tour explores Portland’s historic Old Town District, a vibrant area with beautiful 1800’s buildings, cobblestone streets and a wicked past.
PORTLAND ESCAPE ROOMS
All Month THURS-SUN – Cedar Hills/Beaverton Locations: Real-life room escape games are a type of physical adventure game in which people are locked in a room with other participants and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room within a set time limit.
VANCOUVER METRO EVENTS
OPEN SATURDAY AT PEARSON AIRBASE
SAT – Free educational experience, Flight Simulator lab, vertical wind tunnel, a glider-building station, historic airplanes on-site for viewing, collections on display, and educational programs to propel students of all ages.
CLARK COLLEGE JAZZ FESTIVAL
THURS-SAT – One of the largest jazz festivals in Southwest Washington for over 50 years! Groups perform to an esteemed panel of adjudicators for the privilege of returning for the evening finals competition.
ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW
SAT – The Rocky Horror Picture Show will be shown on a screen as actors perform along with the movie, and audience participation is encouraged!
