STARLIGHT PARADE

SAT Offering funky, eclectic fun for everyone. From traditional marching bands and flood-lit floats, to glow-in-the-dark umbrellas and unique hand-built entries, you’ll see the best of Portland’s diverse community groups (and surrounding Northwest region) together in one whimsical pageant.   

STARLIGHT RUN

SAT – Portland’s most popular Fun Run! 3.1 mile run along the parade route. The costume theme this year is Play Happy.   

CITY FAIR

FRI-SUN – Fun for the whole family with carnival rides, live music, scavenger hunts, kid activities and so much more! 

PORTLAND BUDDHIST FESTIVAL

SAT Buddhist talks, workshops, teachings and activities for adults and children, vendors and so much more.  

PORTLAND MODERN HOME TOUR

SAT Your once-a-year chance to get up close and personal with the architects, designers and amazing homes that define “modern” in Portland.  

CHEERS TO BELGIAN BEERS 

FRI-SAT Featuring a single yeast strain, with which brewers will brew a unique Belgian Style beer. Over 70 samples available from Oregon breweries.  

FESTIVAL OF FLOWERS

Through June 12 – One of Portland’s most renowned festivals in Portland’s Living Room. Comprised of nearly 20,000 flowers, ornamental grass and Douglas fir seedlings, will bring elements of the Columbia River Gorge into the city and encourage visitors to become immersed in the landscape.  

SUMMER SANGRIA PARTY

SAT Kick off summer at Hip Chicks do Wine and sample wine and sangria.

YOUTH RODEO

SAT-SUN Cowboys and cowgirls, some as young as two or three years old, compete in nearly a dozen events divided into three divisions where they can test their skills with others at the same age level at barrel racing, goat tying, pole bending, break away roping, bareback and saddle bronc riding, bull (calf) riding, tie-down roping, and team roping.

CANBY WINE, FOOD & BREW

FRI-SUN Enjoy the sights, sounds, tastes and scents of wonderful Oregon wineries, artisans & specialty foods at the 27th Annual Canby Wine, Food & Brew!

INGMAR BERGMAN: A CENTENARY CELEBRATION 

Through July 22 – See 17 dramatic films by Sweden’s most famous director, including new digital restorations.  

FORCES OF NATURE: HISTORIC PORTLAND FLOODS, FIRES, ICE & SNOW

Through July 8 – Portland is known for its mild climate and beautiful natural surroundings, but the city has felt nature’s fury during its 170 year history. From a downtown submerged in water, to a waterfront in flames, to a city immobilized by ice and snow, explore how Portland residents have survived and recovered from natural disasters.

80’s VIDEO DANCE ATTACK

Every FRI & SAT – Dig out your neon mesh shirts, crimping iron and striped legwarmers to travel back to the 1980s! Classic music videos projected on giant screens complimented with a thumping sound system and light show, this dance extravaganza is sure to get the blood pumping!

PORTLAND CIDER HOUSE’S CIDER-MOSA SATURDAY

EVERY SAT – Enjoy a liquid brunch and try a variety of delicious and fun cider-mosas.

FLASHBACK DANCE CRUISE
SAT – Gather your crew & rock your best retro threads from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s!

DUELING PIANO SHOW
FRI & SAT (All Month) – The Barrel Room lays claim to the longest running dueling piano shows in Portland. The show, which at times can get a “little cheeky,” isn’t just two players banging on pianos for five hours. They boast a Vegas style, request driven, interactive show complete with bits, games, sing-a-longs, comedy and some of the best players in the U.S.

URBAN SCAVENGER HUNT
ALL MONTH  Smartphone clues lead you on a fun & engaging walking tour of the city. Clues start you in the heart of downtown at Pioneer Courthouse Square and will take you on a scavenger hunt through the Arts District, on a streetcar ride and among the famous food carts.

SHANROCK’S TRIVIOLOGY
ALL MONTH  Various Portland Locations: Triviology pub quizzes are free to play, last a couple of hours, and are composed of seven short rounds, giving teams instant gratification for their efforts. Team size can range from one to five players, with prizes for everyone on the winning team.

GUIDED NATURE HIKES
EVERY DAY – Park guides lead nature hikes to explore the forest, stream ecosystems and natural history of the natural area. Tryon Creek State Park & more.

HAUNTED PUB TOUR
All Month – This spine-tingling ghost tour explores Portland’s historic Old Town District, a vibrant area with beautiful 1800’s buildings, cobblestone streets and a wicked past.

GEEKS WHO DRINK PUB QUIZ
ALL MONTH – Anyone can grab a deck of Trivial Pursuit cards and run a “trivia night.” Geeks Who Drink’s smartass quizmasters run fast-paced, interactive and beer-soaked pub quiz events all over Portland.

PORTLAND ESCAPE ROOMS
All Month THURS-SUN – Cedar Hills/Beaverton Locations: Real-life room escape games are a type of physical adventure game in which people are locked in a room with other participants and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles, find clues, and escape the room within a set time limit.

 

VANCOUVER METRO EVENTS

AMERICAN CROWN CIRCUS: CIRCO OSORIO 

THURS through June 5 – An astonishing array of artists in its newest, most exciting circus show. Bursting with mystery, magic, music and more. Amazing audiences with elaborate Illusions, death-defying Daredevil, and unbelievable feats of acrobatic and aerial artistry.

FRIDAY FUN NIGHTS

OPEN SATURDAY AT PEARSON AIRBASE

SAT – Free educational experience, Flight Simulator lab, vertical wind tunnel, a glider-building station, historic airplanes on-site for viewing, collections on display, and educational programs to propel students of all ages.

MEMORIAL WEEKEND IN WINE COUNTRY

SAT-MON – One of the region’s longest-running events where more than 150 wineries and tasting rooms will kick off the summer wine tasting season and celebrate our statewide Oregon Wine Month.

CITY FAIR

FRI-MON Week one of City Fair starts out with a bang with a fireworks display Friday night. Fun for the whole family with carnival rides, live music, scavenger hunts, kid activities and so much more!

MULTNOMAH COUNTY FAIR AT OAKS PARK 

SAT-MON – Adults and children are sure to have an enjoyable weekend experiencing the many offerings of the County Fair, including great food, entertainment, activities, and attractions!

VAMPIRE’S MASQUERADE BALL

SAT – A night focusing on elegance, finery, and dark decadence in one of Portland’s oldest and largest ballrooms highlighting the best in Gothic/Industrial music, live performances and regional vendors!

NW ANIMATION FEST

WED-SUN – Collecting excellent short animated films from around the world for screening at this multi day event. Almost 200 hilarious, dramatic, strand and inspiring films.

BARK RANGER WALKING TOUR

SAT  Ranger-led tour of Fort Vancouver National Historic Site is designed for visitors and their dogs. They will discuss the history of dogs at Fort Vancouver and Vancouver Barracks, as well as the overall history of the site, and highlight how to explore the park safely with pet dogs.

HAIR

Through SAT – Set in a small university town in the American Midwest. Focusing on the nature of stoicism, art, psychopathy, intimacy, explorations of love, and people’s willingness to do things for love.

MT. TABOR ART WALK

QUESTIVAL

FRI-SAT – A 24-hour adventure race where teams of 2-6 friends explore the unknown in their city and the wild spaces around it, do things they never thought possible, and share in the fun of a community.

LIVING HISTORY DAY AT CAMP WITHYCOMBE 

SAT – First chance to preview Museum exhibits in two historical buildings, inspect military vehicles from World War I through today’s equipment, see authentic military uniforms, arms, and equipment and connect with military history experts and collectors.

PORTLAND TRAIN DAY

SAT – Oregon Rail Heritage Center is hosting its 3rd annual Portland Train Day. This year’s theme will highlight the 80th birthday of our own SP&S 700 engine! What better way to experience Portland Train Day than with us – Oregon’s only working rail museum.

RED DRESS PARTY

SAT – The largest, most unusual and anticipated fundraising events in Portland, the 18th annual Red Dress Party! All attendees are required to be wearing RED DRESS attire at all times. All proceeds from will go to Rock ‘n Roll Camp for Girls & Bridging Voices.

DEPRESSED CAKE SHOP

SUN – A one-day pop-up bakery to raise awareness of mental illness through the sale of special cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other treats donated by local bakers. SUN – Give your Mom a much-needed reprieve from the chore of cooking at home to instead spend quality time with her family and friends aboard the Portland Spirit or Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler.

SUN – Treat mom to a special brunch at the Oregon Zoo this year, and celebrate with a sweet and savory spread of brunch favorites. 

RUN MAMA RUN!

SAT A fun Mother’s Day weekend run/walk through Mt Tabor Park. 10k, 5k or kid’s run. Post race activities include grilled cheese bits from Franz Bakery, Oblique Coffee, beer & vendor garden, baby boot camp & more.

REIGNING ROSES WALK

SUN Featuring a wonderful reception with mimosas, pastries and entertainment. Together, with Rose Haven guests, participants will stroll a 5k course through the streets of NW Portland, enjoying stops along the way at local NW shops. Participants are encouraged to walk with, or in honor of, a special woman in their life on Mother’s Day.

ST. JOHNS BIZARRE & PARADE 

SAT The entire six block area of the business district in the St. Johns is closed to traffic, and filled with over 90 juried craft vendors, several stages for music, great food, and tons of games and activities. It’s an amazing community event with something for everyone.

DOGGIE DASH

SAT 1.5 or 2.5 mile walk/run with a pet festival, vendors and contests. Celebrating you, the animals you love and everything that makes Puptown a haven for pet lovers. Funds raised by Dashers are used to fight animal cruelty, heal injured pets, and find homes for pets.

RUN FOR BEER

SAT All participants receive one local beer, seasonal merchandise or collector’s glassware, as well as the opportunity to partake in brewery tours, product demos, special giveaways, live music and more.

CLASSICAL UP CLOSE

Various Dates & Locations through May 6 – The musicians of the Oregon Symphony present 16 free chamber concerts as part of “Classical Up Close”—a unique series of chamber music performances celebrating classical music in our community. FESTIVAL OF PRESERVATION

Through April 22 – An ambitious, eclectic range of everything from lost silents to at-risk mid-century features, shorts, and documentaries. A surprise-filled treasure trove sure to delight cinema lovers of many persuasions.

JAPANESE CURRENTS

Through April 28 – Highlighting recent noteworthy Nipponese films, ranging from anime to jidaigeki, documentary to comedy, all while exploring issues important to contemporary Japanese society. Collectively, these selections offer a fresh take on Japanese culture and showcase the wealth of creative invention at work in Japan today.

FORCES OF NATURE: HISTORIC PORTLAND FLOODS, FIRES, ICE & SNOW

Through July 8 – Portland is known for its mild climate and beautiful natural surroundings, but the city has felt nature’s fury during its 170 year history. From a downtown submerged in water, to a waterfront in flames, to a city immobilized by ice and snow, explore how Portland residents have survived and recovered from natural disasters.

80’s VIDEO DANCE ATTACK

Every FRI & SAT – Dig out your neon mesh shirts, crimping iron and striped legwarmers to travel back to the 1980s! Classic music videos projected on giant screens complimented with a thumping sound system and light show, this dance extravaganza is sure to get the blood pumping!

EASTER EGG HUNTS & EVENTS

Through April 1  Check out what Easter events are going on in your area!

ADULTS ONLY EASTER EGG HUNT

SAT – Hop on the BarFly Bus and hit a variety of bars, clubs, and lounges, where you’ll pay no cover charges. Enjoy specials and the occasional munchie all the while hunting high and low for the EGGS OF MYSTERY! 

RABBIT ROMP

SAT – A celebration of spring geared toward the under-10 crowd. Rabbit Romp is free with zoo admission. Featuring candy egg hunts every 10-15 minutes between 9:30 AM–3 PM. Children ages 3 to 10 are invited to hunt for compostable “plastic” eggs, candy, and prizes. 

ALPENROSE EASTER EGG HUNT

SAT – Hundreds of chocolate eggs and special prize eggs will be hidden across the grounds. Plus, the world-famous Easter Bunny will be on-site to meet all egg-hunters and take pictures! 

BRUNCH CRUISE

SUN – Hop onboard the Portland Spirit for a two-hour Easter Brunch cruise featuring an elaborate brunch buffet, ever-changing views and excellent service and gifts for each child.
