VINTAGE RACING FESTIVAL

CITY FAIR—FLEET WEEK
Through SUN  Tom McCall Waterfront Park: Fleet Week features ships from the US Navy, US Coast Guard, and Canadian Maritime Forces along the waterfront sea wall, carnival rides, Kids Zone, arts and crafts, a beer garden and much more.

GRAND FLORAL PARADE
SAT  A colorful reflection of local, regional and international communities, the Grand Floral Parade draws hundreds of thousands of cheering viewers of every age, along a 4.2 mile route that winds through city streets and across the river.

DRAGON BOAT RACES
SAT-SUN  Held on the Willamette River near the Hawthorne Bridge, the races feature exciting four-team heats held every nine minutes. More than 80 different teams—local, national and international—compete in boats graciously provided through the Portland-Kaohsiung Sister City Association.

FESTIVAL OF FLOWERS
THURS-FRI  Pioneer Courthouse Square. Each year, the Square works with a local artist or design firm to create a masterpiece of vibrant color utilizing nearly 20,000 flowers and plant material. This year’s design, BE FRIENDLY PDX, was created by the award-winning, local firm—Holst Architecture.

SCANDINAVIAN MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL
SAT  Oaks Park. Portland’s 88th Annual Scandinavian Summer Solstice celebration. Maypole raising, live music, dancing, crafts, food and drink.

SAT  Free educational experience, Flight Simulator lab, vertical wind tunnel, a glider-building station, historic airplanes on-site for viewing, collections on display, and educational programs to propel students of all ages.
