Amy Carlton, a senior at Lake Oswego High School, founded Teens Fighting Hunger to help combat childhood hunger. At the Portland Metropolitan Association of REALTOR’s 2010 First Citizen Award banquet today, Amy received the Future First Citizen Award. To date, Amy has donated 2,000 hours to TFH and helped raise $60,000. More than 350 teens have volunteered through the organization.
The organization harnesses the artistic talents of teens to make low cost, high quality products and sell them at local markets. Teens Fighting Hunger selected Transitional Youth as one of their local beneficiaries, and the funding Transitional Youth receives will help us continue to provide evening meals to local homeless youth in downtown Portland.
Amy, we are so appreciative of your dedication to help fight hunger in our communities. Thank you!
