Prudential Northwest Properties Managing Principal Broker Ron Schock and his team of community-minded brokers from Newberg, McMinnville and Yamhill recently sponsored and volunteered at the Oregon Special Olympics Summer Games in Newberg. As a returning corporate sponsor of the event’s Victory Dance, they had the pleasure of assisting and interacting with the athletes and attendees.
In Ron’s words, “There were over 1600 Special Olympic athletes that paraded into the Newberg High School Athletic complex to a grandstand filled with cheering and supporting fans, many of which were people from the community that we invited to attend. Our Prudential NW Brokers were able to help with handing out programs and noisemakers as the community entered the stands and we also helped guide the parade of athletes in and assisted them at the ceremony that night. At the end of the ceremony, we helped clear the space so the athletes, coaches, etc., could party, dance and celebrate their accomplishments.
Again, as in last year, it was a very humbling but joyful experience for those in attendance, and the brokers that hadn’t been there last year got a clear understanding of what a heartwarming experience the Special Olympics Summer Games really is.”
A shout out of thanks to Larry and Judi Hammer, Lucy King, Laura Oviatt, Kari Fahrenkopf, Rob Molzahn, Pam, Phil and Kelsey Irish, Karen Frketich, Pete and Linsey Macy, Taylor Burke, Dixie Hancock, Ann and Mariah Schock and all those who helped to make this a special experience for the athletes.
